Rebecca Siegel has a masters degree in English Literature from Loyola University, Chicago. She has worked in children’s publishing for over a decade, editing and writing books for school library publishers.
Rebecca first learned about the pilots in To Fly Among the Stars back in 2016, while researching a book about the contributions made by African American women at NASA. The story stuck with her, and she spent the following three years utterly devoted to telling it in a way that would honor its subjects, engage middle grade readers, and perhaps even inspire a new generation of explorers.
Rebecca lives just outside of Chicago with her husband and two daughters. When she’s not writing about extraordinary people, she loves to do yoga, hike, and cook.
